By now you know we love wood and the forests from which our wood is harvested. We respect and value the benefits our forests bring to us as humans. We literally can’t live without them.
So it is critical that we support only those vendors who abide by the rules of proper sustainable forest management. We support the US Forest Service Forest Management Guidelines on Silviculture, which is the art and science of controlling the establishment, growth, composition, health and quality of forests and woodlands to meet the diverse needs and values of landowners and society on a sustainable basis.
We require that our vendors provide to us hard evidence of sustainable harvesting practices and demonstrate that they operate within the guidelines of the US Forest Service. There are many suppliers from which to choose. We choose ONLY those that have the same level of commitment to the nurturing of our land as we do.
